Jamestown Authorities Probe Possible Hate Crime Against Gays

By Mark Scott

Jamestown, NY – The recent beatings of several patrons at a Jamestown bar have members of that area's gay community frightened. It may have been a simple bar fight. But some say it was a hate crime that targeted homosexuals.

It happened a week ago. Shortly before the 2:00am last call at the Sky Bar in Jamestown, three white males began punching several patrons, knocking one unconscious. They then fled the scene. Police were able to apprehend one of the attackers. Keith Darling of Jamestown is charged with third-degree assault and harassment.

Greg Rabb is a leader of Jamestown's gay community. He joined WBFO's Mark Scott on the phone Thursday to talk more about what happened. Click the "listen" icon above to hear the interview now or use your podcasting software to download it to your computer or iPod.
