Working to Secure the Bills Future in Buffalo

By Eileen Buckley

Orchard Park, NY – US Senator Charles Schumer wants to make sure the Buffalo Bills are part of Western New York's future. Shumer is teaming with Bills owner Ralph Wilson in a fight to make sure the NFL's revenue-sharing plan helps small markets like Buffalo.

Senator Schumer and Ralph Wilson met on Tuesday in Orchard Park. Afterwards they explained their game plan to reporters.

Schumer has vowed to create a coalition of about 30 US senators, mainly representing small markets. Schumer says they will use "gentle talk" by calling on the NFL to keep football teams alive in the small markets.

Owner Ralph Wilson has repeatedly stated that the new collective bargaining agreement hurts smaller franchises. Wilson says football must remain a national sport.
