Buffalo, NY – The Niagara Quality Health Coalition has released its annual review of hospital performance.
The local Coalition supplies the public with information on hospital performance, including surgery. Executive Director Bruce Boissonnault that in nearly every measure of mortality, statewide, hospitals improved since the reporting first started in 1997.
"When we began, our hospitals were perceived by the patients on clinical issues, to be among the worst in the nation," said Boissonnault. "Today, largely through the collaboration, and the hard work of hospitals, and in part to the reporting to patients, we are at or above the standard of care at every hospital in the region in the patient survey."
The local Health Coalition is a not-for-profit organization and conducts the reviews on hospitals independently.
The public can view the ratings by going on line to myhealthfinder.com.
Boissonnault said 12-states have committed to following the Coalition's review process.
