It is something Buffalo stakeholder and government leaders have been waiting to happen -- tourists -- enough to fill up local hotels. WBFO'S Eileen Buckley found some visitors from Texas in downtown Buffalo learning about the city's great culture and architecture.
"We just wanted to explore the area -- part of the country we haven't seen before," said Bill Stuart is from Houston, Texas.
Stuart and his friend, Richard Peoples, also from Texas, were standing in front of City Hall in downtown Buffalo, soaking up all the art deco of the building.
They already checked out several sites from Buffalo to nearby tourist spots across the region.
"We went up to Niagara Falls and we went down to Jamestown to see the Lucy & Desi Museum, and we went to Rochester. We went to that place where they did that arts and crafts movement," said Stuart referring to the Roycroft in East Aurora.
Both said they were enjoying tour Buffalo and Western New York. "I'm pleasantly surprised by the whole place," noted Stuart.
The Texas tourists noted everyone has been very friendly. "When we stop in front of buildings, people are like oh are you interested in this building," noted Stuart.

With many events held this past weekend, hotels were booked solid in Erie County. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown was thrilled. "In the city of Buffalo we have the same wonderful circumstance where hotels are just about booked up," noted Mayor Brown.
The Texas tourists told WBFO News they always heard about the Buffalo Bills and our snow, but they said they would rather be here then in the 'hot' Texas sun. They said they discovered there are plenty of tourists treasures and they were thrilled to learn about the Queen City.
WBFO News informed the tourists that Buffalo is know as the 'City of Good Neighbors.'
"I did not know that. But that's very accurate. Really enjoyed it. It's really cool," said both Stuart and Peoples. "It's really cool."
