Bills Hall of Fame Quarterback Jim Kelly has taken another step toward recovery following treatment for cancer. His wife, Jill, says he has had his feeding tube removed.
Jill Kelly posted a picture of Jim and his daughter Erin on her Facebook page yesterday, noting "He had his feeding tube removed today! Praise GOD!!! So thankful for yet another step in Jim's healing process! The accompanying photo showed Jim giving his daughter his winter coat at Bills game. Jill's post said, "Because when it's cold, he takes off the only jacket he has and puts it on his daughter."
Jill's Facebook post went on to say "Once again I'm mindful that many of you are more than likely going through hard circumstances right now... Hang in there! God is ever-present...working it all together for your good. Praying that you'll see His goodness in the midst of your darkness. Press on!"
Kelly used the feeding tube following radiation and chemotherapy for treatments of jaw cancer earlier this year.
Since being declared cancer-free in September, Kelly has been seen on the sidelines supporting the Bills on game days.
Kelly honored former Bills Linebacker Darryl Talley at the game this past Sunday by wearing Talley's jersey. Talley became the focus over the weekend after news broke that he had fallen on difficult times and was dealing with injuries related to his years of playing football with the Bills.
