Buffalo, NY – Southside Elementary School is one of the 35-schools to receive a renovation in the city. The school received new windows, two new court yards, interactive boards in each classroom and gym and auditorium were refurbished.
LP Ciminelli Executive Vice-President Eugene Partridge said they have tried to create a learning environment children would want to be in. He says teamwork is what got the job done.
"The leadership and partnership that was brought to this to make this a success so that we could ultimately get to a great outcome for the kids and the families that attend the schools," said Partridge.
Principal Darlene Jesonowski reminded her students of the great opportunity this renovation offers them.
"Students you have been given this wonderful opportunity to work with technology that will prepare you for the 21st century. Grab hold of this opportunity and don't let it go until you have realized your educational dreams and maintained your determination and will to succeed," said Jesonowski.
Phase four of the the joint schools reconstruction project will be completed by the start of the next school year. Phase five, which includes another seven schools, bringing the total renovation number to 48 will be finished by 2014.
