Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo man who shot and killed a University at Buffalo student shortly after his graduation last May was sentenced to 25-years in prison Tuesday.
Twenty-one-year-old DaMario Cordelius pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter last month.
The victim, Javon Jackson, was gunned down on Main Street at Lisbon Avenue. His mother, Theresa Williams, was in the courtroom for today's sentencing. Williams quoted her daughter in delivering a harsh message to the killer of her son.
"(She said) if her brother Javon must RIP -- rest in peace -- then those responsible should RIP - rot in prison," Williams said.
Cordelius refused to look at Williams as she read her statement and was seen smirking at times.
