Buffalo, NY – The Just Buffalo Literary Center's Babel series on Friday night features an international author who adopted a new language and a new country. Chinese born writer Ha Jin came to the United States to study English. He ended up staying and choosing to write exclusively in English. The bold decision paid off. His 1999 novel, Waiting earned him the National Book Award. He is also a recipient of the PEN/Faulkner award and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. WBFO's Joyce Kryszak talked with Ha Jin about learning to live and write in a foreign culture.
