Buffalo, NY – NHL player and Chicago Blackhawks star player Patrick Kane has been indicted by an Erie County Grand Jury for an August 9th incident involving a Buffalo cab driver.
Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita says the grand jury delivered its findings to his office Wednesday morning.
But the grand jury indictment dismissed the most serious felony charge of second degree robbery against both Kane's.
However, 20 year old Kane and his 21 year old cousin, James Kane, were indicted on two misdemeanor charges of third degree assault and theft of services, and also a harassment charge.
Kane, a South Buffalo native, is accused of beating up a cab driver over a fare. The 62 year old cab driver told police they attacked him when he said he didn't have 20 cents in change for the cab fare.
Both will be arraigned on the charges in Buffalo City Court Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. before Chief Judge Thomas Amodeo.
