Construction Worker Falls to His Death

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – A construction worker fell to his death Tuesday morning from a building in downtown Buffalo. It happened inside a building on Pearl Street between Swan and Seneca.

The 24-year old man, who is not being identified at this time, died after falling a couple of stories inside a building that is under construction.

Buffalo Police spokesman Mike DeGeorge said it happened just before 8-this morning.

DeGeorge said he is not certain, but it is possible the worker was on some type of scaffolding. DeGeorge said they also learned that the worker's hard hat came off in the fall.

OSHA is on the scene investigating. Police are questioning other construction workers who may have witnessed the fall of their co-worker.

The building at 92 Pearl Street is known as the Webb building. Developers are planning to convert the vacant structure into mix use building that will feature commercial space and apartments.
