Initial DNA Results Don't Link Diver Case to Other Crimes

By Eileen Buckley

Clarence, NY – WBFO News has learned that some initial DNA results are complete in the murder of a Clarence woman.

A spokeswoman for Erie County Sheriff's investigators says it appears there is "no evidence" that the murder of Joan Diver is linked to any other criminal investigation.

Diver was strangled while jogging last Friday along the Clarence-Newstead bike path. Funeral services were held Friday morning for Diver at the Zion Lutheran Church in Clarence. Authorities still have no suspect.

Investigators had earlier stated that there were similarities to the unsolved Amherst bike path murder of UB student Linda Yalem 16-years ago.

At Diver's funeral, some mourners remember her as a radiant person with a joyful laugh.
