Buffalo, NY – First Lady Laura Bush travels to the Buffalo area Wednesday for a a fundraiser benefiting Congressman Tom Reynolds. The trip was scheduled well before the political firestorm that is currently enveloping House Republican leaders, including Reynolds, over disgraced former Congressman Mark Foley.
Congressman Reynolds was already in a tight race against Democratic challenger Jack Davis. A poll commissioned by WGRZ television last week indicated it's a dead heat. So, what impact will the Foley scandal have on Reynolds' re-election process?
