Buffalo, NY – The man recruited to be the first director of the University at Buffalo's Center for Excellence in Bioinformatics is leaving.
Jeffrey Skolnick has submitted his resignation, effective January 10th. Skolnick is taking a job at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Skolnick was hired nearly four years ago with high expectations, and a high salary, but his tenure here was not without some controversy.
When Skolnick was introduced in 2002, Governor Pataki had described Skolnick as a "superstar." But his management style soured some of his colleagues.
