Buffalo, NY – World famous composer and Buffalo native Harold Arlen is being honored by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra this weekend.
Arlen who wrote such classic songs as "Stormy Weather", "It's Only A Paper Moon" and "Somewhere over the Rainbow" will be the first artist honored in the Musical Heritage Walk at Kleinhans Music Hall.
Arlen's son Sam and his family where at the dedication and spoke about Buffalo and what the city meant to Arlen.
"He never forgot Buffalo. He always talked about it," Sam Arlen said. "This was his hometown. And we are so proud and touched that Buffalo never forgot Harold."
The BPO will perform a tribute concert in Arlen's honor Friday and Saturday at 8pm at Kleinhans.
