Buffalo, NY – A national transportation research group known as TRIP released a report Wednesday rating the condition of the area's roads and bridges.
The report gives Buffalo a grade of "C minus." Officials say poor roads and bridges may hinder mobility and economic development in the Buffalo area.
Steve Stallmer, executive director of Associated General Contractors in New York State, says there's not even enough money in the pipeline for such high profile projects as the waterfront and Peace Bridge.
"If you look at the funding that's available, both state and federal for all those projects, you couldn't even begin to address that list," Stallmer said. "There isn't enough money to make sure that the local roads are working to connect to the major roads and the whole point of today is to let everyone know It's only gonna get worse."
Stallmer added that at least $10 billion would be needed over the next five years to improve Buffalo's roads and bridges.
