Buffalo, NY – The owner of Jimmy Mac's has closed the popular Elmwood Avenue nightspot.
Rick Naylon says he's giving up his legal battle against the state's smoking ban. He says he's lost thousands of dollars from a drop off in business since patrons can no longer drink and smoke. Naylon said his decision to close affects 35 employees.
"That's the worst part of this entire episode," Naylon said. "I had to tell my 35 loyal employees that they're now unemployed."
Naylon says he will try to lease the space to another operator. He's has operated Jimmy Mac's for 23 years.
