Ray Suarez Says Media, Military Forging New Paths

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – One of the nation's most respected television journalists says he's awed by the technology that's bringing images of the Iraqi war into our homes. Ray Suarez says the media and the military are forging new paths in this war that won't be understood until it's all over.

Suarez used to host Talk of the Nation from NPR News. Today, he's a reporter and anchor for public television's "News Hour with Jim Lehrer."

He took a break from war coverage Sunday for a quick appearance at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Amherst. Suarez says coverage of the war is all over the place -- some of it good, some of it bad.
