More than 75,000 Kaiser Permanente workers who say understaffing is hurting patient care have walked off the job.

Kaiser Permanente is one of the country’s major insurers and health care system operators. This is the largest walkout by healthcare workers in U.S. history.

So, what led to this historic strike, and what progress has there been with bargaining?
