Buffalo, NY – A tragic accident in the town of Amherst has resulted in the death of a toddler.
Police say Kristin McCrae was moving her car to get ready for a trip to the store, but didn't see her 18-month-old daughter Collett and ran her over.
Amherst police captain Patrick McKenna says emergency crews were on the scene quickly.
"Paramedics were working on the child, as well as several firefighters and police officers," McKenna said.
The toddler later died of her injuries at Women's and Children's Hospital.
Grief counselors are available Wednesday for emergency personnel who responded to the accident. Many of them have small children of their own.
