Buffalo, NY – Governor Pataki Wednesday nominated Christopher Jacobs of Buffalo to serve as New York's Secretary of State.
Jacobs is a local developer and a member of the Buffalo Board of Education. He ran a surprisingly strong campaign against State Senator Marc Coppola in a special election held in February.
Jacobs said the appointment came together in the last couple of weeks.
Jacobs says he plans to keep his seat on the city's school board. He'll serve in an acting capacity, while awaiting his confirmation by the State Senate.
