Buffalo, NY – State Senator Byron Brown continues to gather key endorsements in his bid for Buffalo mayor.
The latest group to endorse Brown is the Buffalo Professional Firefighters union, Local 282, which represents about 770 active members. They gathered at Engine 2 and Ladder 9 on Virginia Street Monday to show their support.
Brown says that although tough decisions will have to be made in contract negotiations, he promises firefighters fair and honest treatment at the bargaining table.
"What I hope to do is have us all at the table as partners. There are going to be some tough decisions that have to be made. The firefighters know that. Other unions know that. Our business community knows that," Brown said. "And I am willing to make the tough decisions that are required in the best interest of the citizens of Buffalo. "
Brown has also received endorsements from four other unions.
Mayor Anthony Masiello has yet to announce whether he'll seek re-election to a fourth term.
